The Parent School Association (PSA) of the Shri Ram School
is a proactive support group of parents that is deeply committed to the
idea that the intellectual, physical and emotional growth and development of
our children can only be pursued through an effective and mutually supportive
3-way relationship between the child, the teacher and the parent. The PSA also
includes representatives from the Special Educational Needs Department (SEND)
& members of staff.
To facilitate the process the PSA has been structured to include an Executive
Committee (EC) which represents the PSA group and is the primary interface with
the school. Its role is to bring to the notice of the school issues that
reflect the concerns of the majority of the parent body. It is also important
for the EC to understand the schools perspective on issues and to be able to
communicate it to the rest of the parent group.
Every class is represented by a parent (called the CR) and every form by a
parent Form Representative (FR). This group has a key role in facilitating
communication and constructive feedback between the parents and the school.
The PSA would also like to be considered a resource to the school wherever their
help is needed. Various Working Groups have been created for this and parents
are urged to join at least one.
It is important to remeber that the PSA is primarily an advisory body, which
plays no role in the administration or polocy matters of the school.
